Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus FREE Women’s Singing Workshop

Saturday 9th June 3 – 6pm, Cross Street Chapel, Manchester

Always enjoyed singing along to the radio and fancied seeing what you really could do? Sung in a choir at school and always wanted to get back to it?

Come along to the Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus FREE Women’s Singing Workshop to find out more about yourself and us!

We will be learning a few simple songs from scratch, led by our conductor Jeff Borradaile and aided and abetted by the MLGC women singers.

As a chorus, we sing in 4 part accapella and welcome anyone who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender and who wish to sing any of the traditional voice parts. We are currently looking to increase our female membership and so for the purposes of this work shop we welcome any self-identified women wishing to sing in any of the traditional voice parts.

The session will be divided into two halves with a break for refreshments in the middle. We will be looking at few vocal techniques and warm up exercises and then learning a few songs from scratch. You do not need to be able to read music.

We will be mostly standing whilst singing, but please feel free to sit when you need, there will be seating provided. You will probably feel more comfortable if you wear something loose and you maybe surprised how warm you get while singing! You may also like to bring a bottle of water.
