A Tribute to Victoria Wood

Have You Seen 'Er?

VICTORIA STATION, MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE
SATURDAY 4 JUNE 2016
2-3PM
in aid of Jessie’s Fund, the music therapy charity of which Victoria was Patron

Victoria Station became Victoria Wood station for a special hour of music and memories, for the people of Greater Manchester to pay tribute to the life and work of the much-loved Prestwich-born comedian

The event featured:
Sue Devaney, actress and singer who worked with Victoria (Dinnerladies, Dinnerladies Second Helpings, Housewife, 49)
Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus with their special musical LGBT+ tribute
The Salford Angels WI with their amazing baking
Aaron from the Manchester Big Gay Big Band

We had a wonderful speech from the Lord Mayor and we heard about the work of Jessie's Fund from founder and schoolfriend of Victoria's, Lesley Schatzberger

Over 600 people came - some in fancy dress as Victoria's characters and bought slices of tribute Victoria Wood Sponges baked by the Salford Angels WI. We raised £1024 for Jessie's Fund!

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us! We all had a wonderful time and have special memories to cherish.
