About Us

For more than 20 years now our voices have been raised towards equality. There is no audition, you don’t need to be able to read music and your sexuality or gender is not an issue. The Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus (MLGC) was established to provide a safe and comfortable space for people to meet and sing together, and to promote a positive image of Greater Manchester’s growing LGBTQI+ community.

We are an eclectic group of people who have a wide variety of singing and musical talents, working together to provide a supportive, inclusive community for all our members. Just as our repertoire is varied so is our membership, with singers from all walks of life.

Whether you join us for rehearsals or performances we welcome you: come along to sing with others. Currently, due to the Coronavirus pandemic we rehearse every Monday evening online. We are always looking for new members. So if you’re interested, have a look at the Membership Enquiry link under “Contact Us” and send us an email. Whilst we cannot at the moment meet face-to-face, you will be made very welcome, able to take part in our virtual rehearsals on Mondays.
